Portpatrick has a number of hotels which are open to non-residents. It has a good fish restaurant that also caters for non-fish eaters; it is always advisable to book. There are a number of hotels/pubs on the harbour front with tables outside. All these are within easy walking distance of the house.
SHOPPING
The bakers-cum-newsagent-cum-small grocery store is just round the corner from the house. It also has a cash machine but it is advisable to check if any charges apply. A further store on the main street has a post office and cash machine that is free to use. The village also has a number of craft and antique shops; one of them has a small cafe upstairs. Beyond these, there is a full range of shops in Stranraer and it has the nearest petrol station.
