WALKING
Portpatrick is popular with walkers. The Southern Upland Way starts in the village and extends to Cockburnpath on the Berwickshire coast, a distance of 212mls/340kms. For shorter walks, the coastal paths running North and South of the village provide the walker with sightings of seabirds, wildlife and spectacular cliff-top views. There is also an attractive walk through the nearby Dunskey Glen.
GOLF
Dunskey Golf Club has a fine 18 hole course on the cliffs overlooking the village and with views across the Irish Channel. There is also a smaller 9 hole course on the same site. Click on 'Places of Interest 2' on this website for information on the championship course at Turnberry.
A putting course in the village is popular with both children and adults.

A bowling green shelters under the cliff beside the tennis courts.

At the other side of the village from the harbour / play park / tennis and bowling green, is the small amusement arcade, a popular place, especially when it is wet. Site Last Updated - 12/08/2010 10:08:59
